As a beginner I am still working out my impressions of tai chi and
what it's doing for me. I started because I like the grace and flow in
the movements. For me, at this point, the movements represent a
beautiful physical discipline. In my daily life at the office, tai chi
has become an alternative "break". Instead of sitting down with a coffee
in the afternoon, I find a quiet space to practice. I have been very
lucky in this regard as I have a colleague, advanced in tai chi, who
joins me and helps with my training. On a few occassions, these
practices have given me an inner stillness. I attribute this to clearing
out my mind of thoughts and shifting to concentrating on movement |
